Expanding Horizons: Three D Metals’ Continued Growth in Mexico

Three D Metals’ Mexico facility

Three D Metals is setting the stage for success in Mexico, leveraging strategic investments to bring customers closer to the materials they need. With the demand for localized production on the rise, Three D Metals responded by expanding its footprint  into one of the most dynamic manufacturing hubs in the world. This strategic move isn’t just about geography; it’s about aligning with customer needs, accelerating delivery times, and paving the way for long-term growth in the Latin American market.

Meeting Customer Demand with Localization

Three D Metals’ expansion was spurred by requests from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers with operations in the region. Many of these companies were seeking localized production to reduce lead times and streamline their supply chains. By establishing coil processing and distribution facilities in Matamoros and Monterrey, Three D Metals has solidified its ability to meet these needs quickly and efficiently.

“Localization is key,” said Jeff Cox, VP of Business Development. “Our Mexico facilities allow us to get materials to customers faster and provide operations close to their facilities instead of shipping from Cleveland. This is a major advantage for our customers.”

Strengthening Key Industry Partnerships

The Matamoros facility primarily supports the power generation and distribution industries, particularly the transformer market. This focus aligns with Three D Metals’ expertise and reputation as a trusted supplier in these sectors. With Mexico now representing one of the company’s largest markets for these products, the strategic location is well-positioned to support growing demand.

“Transformers and switchgear markets are projected to show extremely high growth, and we’re positioned to support those industries with the materials they need,” Jeff explained. “Our products also contribute to upgrades in the power grid and to the growing data center market, further solidifying our role in these key sectors.”

A Strategic Vision for Growth

Three D Metals is not only investing in its current operations in Mexico but is also looking toward future expansion. The company recently expanded the Matamoros facility and opened a distribution center in Monterrey. These moves are part of a larger strategic plan to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the market by identifying new opportunities and maintaining close proximity to customers.

“We’re always evaluating the next best location to meet customer needs,” Jeff shared. “Our goal is to stay ahead by being where our customers need us most.”

Customer Benefits: Faster Access, Broader Reach

For Three D Metals’ customers, the benefits of the Mexico expansion are clear:

  • Improved accessibility: Localized production and distribution mean faster delivery times and more efficient service.
  • Broader product availability: From electrical-grade copper and aluminum to more niche products like titanium and cobalt, the company offers a comprehensive range of materials to meet diverse needs.
  • Consistent support: With a focus on reliability and quality, Three D Metals is committed to helping customers succeed in their industries.

Building on a Strong Foundation

As Three D Metals expands its horizons in Mexico, the company’s dedication to customer success and market leadership remains unwavering. By aligning its growth strategy with industry needs and investing in the right markets, Three D Metals continues to strengthen its position as a trusted partner in the metals industry.
